ThaiRock 2015 is aimed to promote the significance of rock mechanics knowledge and profession in the ASEAN countries. The symposium allows an opportunity for academia, researchers and regulators to discuss and exchange their knowledge, problems and experience. The rapid development of infrastructures and exploitation of energy and mineral resources in the ASEAN countries has enhanced the significance and needs of rock mechanics knowledge and skill. These include, for example, potash and coal mining, energy storage, waste disposal, geothermal energy, oil & gas production, and high-speed transportation system. The success of the past Thailand Rock Mechanics Symposia (2007 through 2013) also reflects the increasing demand of professional rock mechanists for the research institutes and private industries. We are confident that ThaiRock 2015 will be fruitful for the academia and practitioners in all disciplines relevant to rock mechanics. Symposium Proceedings All technical papers and presentations will be made in English. Full registration will include a copy of proceedings, two luncheons and one awarded dinner. Advisory Committee Prof. Jaak J.K. Daemen (University of Nevada, USA) Prof. John M.
