Key Recommendations to ITIR SSC to engage in a broad-based outreach program on forward-looking needs Streamline and improve SSC and ICT sector engagement in the CICP program Streamline SSC’s internal procurement processes to promote innovation Leverage innovation hubs and VC to identify potential innovations – don’t go it alone 3 Innovation Outreach Innovation Outreach Innovation Engagement A critical success element for SSC’s Innovation Agenda is to ensure Canadian ICT community has clear view of the SSC Problem Space – in essence ensure the market sees the “Unmet Demand” it’s not currently meeting Unmet Demand ICT Innovation Funding Build a system that brings these elements together: -Provide a forum for outreach that ties back to funding -The market will organize itself to meet the demand Leverage CICP -Establish an SSC-ICT stream -Participate in bid evaluation -Provide lab environment for testing and feedback -Ensure continuity with enterprise procurement Leverage Innovation Hubs -establish communication rhythm on potential innovations Leverage SSC’s Procurement Authority -Foster a culture of innovation within SSC -Identify and resolve any barriers in the procurement processes -specific recommendation to follow
