SPC Block Type MSB-075 rail-mounted for standard crane rail tread (rail mounting is preferred as the block not only coats the rail head, but keeps it free of dust particles, which allows the wheel to traverse a clean, coated surface. On cranes where rail mounting is not possible, the blocks are installed onto the wheel tread and transfers also to the rail head.)

By increasing traction between the crane wheel tread and the top of the rail, wheel slippage and crabbing (lateral migration) is substantially reduced, which in turn reduces metal flaking (wear) and chatter marks.
A crane can operate at full efficiently with less energy consumption and less vibration. Metal wear can be reduced by up to 80%, increasing wheel / rail operating life by 3 – 5 X.

Best position for applicators is when they point in a line directly toward the center point, or axis, of the wheel . (Figure 1). They should also be in a position generally perpendicular to the surface to be coated. (Figure 2)
