4. Concerning to Policy on CPMT Conference Relationships Category ★ ICEP ‥‥‥‥‥‥‥ Option 2-1 ★ SPJWS ‥‥‥‥‥‥ Option 2-2 ★ VLSI-PKG-WS ‥‥‥ Option 2-2 or 2-1 or other.

5. Administration of IEEE CPMT Society Japan Chapter ★ IEEE CPMT Society Japan Chapter entrust a task and activities to each Workshop organization because both SPJWS and VLSI-PKG-WS are sponsored by only IEEE CPMT and use IEEE CPMT name and logo. ★ SPJWS organization decided to entrust to IEEE CPMT Society Japan Chapter about administration fee of policy on IEEE CPMT conference relationships. However, SPJWS can only pay approximately 3 to 5 % in total budgets that is about \100,000 to \150,000. ★ VLSI-PKG-WS organization decided to obey the administration fee last year that was discussed and decided between Dr. Philip Garrou, IEEE CPMT president and Mr. Masahiko Kouno, general chair person of VLSI-PKG-WS.

6. ICEP is in extremely complicated situation. ★ ICEP is co-sponsored by IEEE CPMT and IMAPS-Japan/JIEP. ★ However, ICEP is managed by JIEP (Japan Institutes of Electronics Packaging) in finance and human resources. Therefore, IMAPS-Japan/JIEP would not like to pay administration fee to IEEE CPMT now. ★ Furthermore, organization of JIEP is extremely complicated because JIEP was jointly established between ISHM Japan (present IMAPS-Japan) and JICP (Japan Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits ) and now position of IMAPS-Japan is one of the committees in JIEP organization.

7. ★ Therefore, IEEE CPMT Society Japan Chapter think to pay administration fee of ICEP to IEEE CPMT Society instead of IMAPS-Japan/JIEP, if it is less than 3 to 5 % of total budgets of ICEP that is about \300,000 to \500,000. ★ In order to dig up all this administration fee, IEEE CPMT Japan Chapter will hold packaging technology seminar in Japan (at least before next 2005 ICEP) and will aggressively negotiate with IMAPS-Japan/JIEP to pay half of this fee in near future. ★ I would like to get the agreement that above- mentioned each administration fee value of SPJWS (\100,000-\150,000; option 2-2) and ICEP (\300,000- \500,000; option 2-1) is acceptable for IEEE CPMT.
