Research suggest that children from poorer backgrounds are more likely to not attain basic standards whilst at school. So the effects are passed from one generation to the next Groups at risk…

Reduced experiences: children from poorer backgrounds are more likely to miss out on real life experiences with their families and suffer parental disengagement. Reduced participation in post-compulsory education. Reduced Employment opportunities: there is now a growing shift in the labour market towards skilled positions requiring academic qualifications.
