WHAT I LIKED AND DID NOT LIKE ABOUT MY SERVICE LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT THE LEARNING ZONE I liked… That the Learning Zone was a casual place, but at the same time structured The fact that it gave my an opportunity to put things we talked about in class in to practice. The rules and expectations of behavior for the children where always clear. I did not like… Having to work with a different child every other week. Not knowing what I was going to be expected to help a child with.

6. M Y TEN WEEKS AT THE LEARNING ZONE Weeks #1 and 7 I worked with Fatima. She is a 3 rd grader She is very energetic We worked on math, reading, writing. Week #2 Worked with Alex and Mrs. Sally We tried to get Alex to focus and attempt to read his home work packet. Alex is a hard worker when he wants to be but this week he was a difficult child.

7. M Y TEN WEEKS AT THE LEARNING ZONE Week #3 Worked with Jordan. Worked on reading. He was very shy at first. Weeks #4 and 10 Worked with Joel. Joel struggles with reading, and writing, but always tries. He is very calm and takes his time with things.

8. M Y TEN WEEKS AT THE LEARNING ZONE Weeks #5, 6, and 8 Worked with Henry. He is a 2 nd grader. Henry is a very good reader. Henry has a hard time staying focused. Week #9 Worked with Stephanie. She is a 1 st grader. Stephanie likes to go by Steph. Steph is also a very good reader. Steph was very easy to work with she smiled the entire hour and half.

9. MY FINAL THOUGHTS OF MY SERVICE LEARNING AT THE LEARNING ZONE I am glad to have had the opportunity to have volunteered at the Learning Zone. This experience gave me a small taste of what I may be seeing in my future classroom. I learned that change can be good for me.
