2 Reclaim the Promised Land Rules & Instructions Sheet Goal: Have the most pieces showing your color at the end of the game. 1.Place four game pieces (small pieces) in the center of the board according to the labels in those spaces (two red showing and two blue showing). 2.There are 44 game pieces left. Divide these evenly between the two of you (22 each). 3.Pick a color. (Each person must be a different color.) 4.The youngest person goes first and places a game piece on the board in one of the squares with his/her color showing. 5.You must “claim” at least one enemy piece on every turn. You “claim” a piece (or pieces) by trapping it (or them) between two of your pieces. 6.Any of your opponent’s pieces that are between the piece you just played and another one of your pieces now become yours. You can flip them over so that they show your color. 7.If you cannot “claim” any of your opponent’s pieces, you cannot play and must pass your turn. 8.You can trap and “claim” your opponent’s pieces in any direction (horizontally, vertically or diagonally). 9.It is possible to “claim” your opponent’s pieces in multiple directions with just one move. 10.You can “reclaim” pieces that your opponent “claimed” from you on a previous turn. 11.The game is over when the entire board is filled with pieces or when no one can “claim” any of their opponent’s pieces. (Count how many pieces of each color are showing. The person with the most pieces showing wins.) A sample game is shown on one of the pages in your kit.

4 Reclaim the Promised Land Debrief Questions How did you feel whenever your opponent “claimed” spaces that belonged to you? What strategies worked best for “reclaiming” your spaces? What strategies worked best for protecting your spaces once you had them? What strategies can we use for “reclaiming” territory from our real opponent, Satan? What strategies can we use to protect the territory God has already given us from Satan?
