3 ~Introduction~ Today we are going to learn about Antarctica. Antarctica is very cold and there are some really cool animals that live there. The penguin is one kind of animal that lives there. Let’s go explore Antarctica and learn about penguins.

4 Antarctica Antarctica is located at the south pole. 98% of the land is covered by ice. Antarctica is a continent.

5 Antarctica It is the coldest continent. There are very few animals and plants that live there. Penguins are one type of animal that lives in Antarctica.

6 Baby Penguins Baby penguins are called chicks. Penguins hatch from eggs. Either the mom or the dad sits on the eggs to keep them warm and safe. There are some penguins that do not sit on their eggs. They cuddle them in their feet and waddle around with them.

7 WHERE DOES THEIR FOOD COME FROM? The mom and the dad find food for their chicks.
