2 Slaves sold for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. The rules of the auction stated that the slaves would be sold as “families” defined as an husband,wife and any offspring, but there is no guarantee that the rule would be followed. Chris.B

3  Slave traders traveled to Africa where they would buy people who had been imprisoned or did not contribute to society. They were then sold to the rich people who had plantations.  Mitchel D

4  There was two different types of auctions. There was the “Sold! to the highest bidder” and The ‘Grab and Go’ Auction. “Sold! to the highest bidder” is the normal bidding, person bidding the highest amount of money gets the slave. The ‘Grab and Go’ auction pays before hand and then all of the slaves come out and the buyer rushes to get the on he wants.  Jake Z.

5  During the Slave Auctions the slaves would be feeling nervous standing in front of hundreds of rich white men looking to buy workers for their plantations. In their mind most slaves are thinking “I hope this isn’t real.”  Mason.L 

6  The slave masters at the auctions were looking to make money by selling slaves to other slave masters.  Slaves could be sold because they were not working well.  The masters that bought slaves were rich, white plantation owners looking for slaves.  John.M
