10  A member may give notice:  At a previous meeting (may be done orally)  In the call of the meeting  Changes the voting hurdle for certain measures to a majority vote  Amend/Rescind Something Previously Adopted  Discharge a Committee  Postpone an already scheduled event  How the notice is worded will affect its scope of consideration  Member: “I give notice that at the next meeting I will move to amend standing rule #5.”

12  When disciplinary matters are under consideration and a motion is pending to impose a penalty, a single member can require the vote to be taken by ballot  Ballots are usually used when personalities are involved

13  It is the duty of the Chair to protect the assembly from obviously frivolous or dilatory motions by refusing to recognize them  Division of the Assembly, when the result is obvious  Frivolous and repeated use of Point of Order
