2 Marine Observatory Jacques Yves Cousteau This year Jacques-Yves Cousteau Observatory of Oceans and Coastlines, Mexican Pacific Base, a cooperation project between Mexico and France was set up. Together with the Mexican Atlantic Base, it is the most important marine observatory in the country.

10 Aims of the Marine Observatory Gather information through time (Effects of climate change. Influence of human activity). Allow coordination of works of institutions and researchers based on a new working paradigm. Avoid duplicating institutional efforts. Promote marine and coastal conservation with the participation of the community. The observatory has a priority role in restoration in the sense of directing public policies.
