Ella K’s mum is a graphic designer She uses a lot of technology in her designs. She talked to us about the Paul Frank line of products that are available to Big W. It was pretty cool.

Mrs Ritchie talked to us about being an artist She makes sculptures and other art works.

George is Charlie’s dad. George talked about the design process in building

Adam is Tanya’s big brother. Adam is studying graphic design. He is a pretty amazing artist! He showed us lots of drafts that he has to do before he finishes a final piece of work.

Stefano’s mum is a scrapbooker. She uses a lot of visualizing in her designs. She tries out lots of different ways to layer materials before she finally begins to glue.

Ella C’s mum makes cards. There are a lot of steps in card making. You can investigate ideas by looking at websites, reading magazines and going to classes.

Linda is Nathan’s mum. She is a quilter. Linda gets her design ideas from looking at other people’s quilt, researching on the internet or looking in books. She also uses her imagination. We loved her quilts.

John is Ava’s dad. He is a photographer. Different companies send him products and he designs ways to photograph them so they look really great. His final product is an amazing photograph.

Mary is a quilt maker. She has made quilts for our school and the church. To create a quilt it can take Mary over 240 hours! She works through all the steps in the design process.

David is Jonah’s dad. He is a building designer. David showed us how the four main steps in the design process are used in building. A lot of investigating and designing is needed before you can begin to a build something!

Bethany’s mum brought along some examples of knitting. When you knit you have to go through all the steps in the design process! We thought the knitted mice were very cute.
