1 2014 “Best Practices” Nominee Butler High School Huntsville City Schools 1 Increasing Participation in School Breakfast

2 2 1, Implemented a “Breakfast After the Bell” version of “Breakfast in the Classroom” in September of 2013. 2, Breakfast participation increased 63% in October 2013 as compared to October of 2012. 3, Entered the “2013 Titans of Taste Breakfast Challenge” which is sponsored by Purity Dairies, the Tennessee Titans, and the Southeast Dairy Council. This contest has ran for 10 years and had never had a high school win the competition. There were 239 schools who participated in the contest from 3 states (Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky). 4, Butler High School won the overall prize which was a check for $5000 and a Pep Rally which would be held at their school and attended by Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders, Mascot, and a Titan’s Player. 5, Johnson High School finished second in the contest and received a check for $3000.
