2. The Problem: A major proportion of our rural population is flooding into the nearby urban areas in search of work. The women are immediately placed as maids to work more than twelve hours per day. Not only do their parents abuse them, especially girls, by sending them to work at a very young age, but the corrupt members of the privileged society also misuse and exploit them sexually. Present status: Aabroo has two welfare schools running two shifts (morning & afternoon), a school with a single shift and two Jhuggi schools, in different localities of Lahore. 1532 children are enrolled for free education. Textbooks, notebooks, pencils, rubbers, sharpeners, uniform, school shoes, a freshly cooked lunch, early medical assistance and family support are provided for free. What we teach:  F ormal Education  Using some books of the Punjab Textbook Board and our own specially tailored curriculum,we provide Primary, Junior and Upper School education in all subjects.  Qur’anic Ta’leem  Reading with translation. Aabroo Solid Waste Management: To sustain and maintain its educational and welfare work, Aabroo raises income by collecting the solid waste material from participating households, schools and offices and delivering the material to re-cycling plants. In this way, Aabroo helps protect the environment, teaches the importance of recycling and ensures its own continuance through independent funding.

28. Future Plans: To upgrade the present High Schools to Intermediate Colleges.
