1 Biotechnology in North Carolina

2 Biotechnology in N.C. What is biotechnology ? A collection of technologies that use living cells and/or biological molecules to solve problems and make useful products.

3 Biotechnology in N.C.  The making of these products is called biomanufacturing or bioprocessing.

4 Biotechnology in N.C.  More than 600+ biotechnology companies  Companies involved in industries such as aquaculture, biodefense, medical devices, nutrition, pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, diagnostics and medical devices  Together, they employ more than 60,000 people.
