3 M40 SERIES CHARACTERISTICS
Lightweight. Transported and stored in carrier. Facepiece is made of silicone rubber with inturned sealing surface so it can form a seal on your face. Includes both clear and neutral gray outserts. Canister is quickly and easily replaced.

4 M40 SERIES FEATURES Silicone rubber facepiece which provides a seal against CB agents. A canister which filters particulate matter and agents from the air. Side and front voicemitters that transmits the users voice outside of the facepiece. Outlet valve. A drink tube which allows user to drink while wearing the mask.

7 FITTING AND ADJUSTING 1. Loosen head harness straps to the ends about one inch from the buckles. 2. Fold the head harness over the front of the facepiece. 3. Put your chin in the chin pocket of the facepiece. 4. While holding the facepiece against your face, pull the head harness over the back of your head. 5. Hold the mask against your face and center the head pad on the back of your head. 6. While holding the head pad, adjust the forehead straps first and then the cheek straps. 7. Adjust the temple straps the same way the other straps were done. 8. Adjust the length of the internal drink tube so it doesn’t touch your lips.

8 FITTING AND ADJUSTING cont:
Check for proper fit according to following: Edge of facepiece does not go into hairline or within one inch of your ear. Temple and cheek straps do not cut into ears. Eye pupils are centered in the eyelenses. Facepiece doesn't squeeze face so that your eyes are partly closed. Bottom of facepiece does not cut into throat. The mask does not wrinkle skin in front of the ear. Nosecup does not obscure vision or press into your nose.

10 REMOVING THE M40 FPM Remove headgear.
Unfasten underarm straps, loosen neck cord and unzip the front of the hood. Raise the hood up and pull it over the front of the mask. Loosen the cheek straps. Use one hand to hold the facepiece against your face. With the other hand grab the head harness tab and pull the head harness over the front of the facepiece. Remove the facepiece.
