1. Emulsions are suspension of droplets, greater than 0,1 micron in diameter, consisting of two completely immiscible liquids, one of which is dispersed throughout the other. The most widely used method of treating oil emulsions is chemical demulsification. Poliflock trademark demulsifiers are high efficiency mixture of one or several substances for water in oil or oil in water separation. 4. Usually stable oil emulsions can contain up to 40 -60 % of water. It is common that slop oil forms such a stable emulsions that even after long time heating in separation towers low or almost no separation appears. Heat is usually required to resolve water in oil emulsions. After adding Polifloc demulsifier it is possible achieve 5 to 0 % water content in oil. Typical dosages are 0,5-6kgs/m3 of emulsion. The adjustment of pH can be neccessary.
