The Streetcar named Desire was established in 1920. Desire was discontinued in 1948, replaced by a bus Named Desire. The streetcar became famous after Tennessee Williams’ play, A Streetcar Named Desired, was first performed in 1947. Blanche Dubois says, “they told me to take a Streetcar Named Desire…….”
