2 WE USE MODAL VERBS TO EXPRESS  CAN ability (cпособность)  MUST Necessity (необходимость)  SHOULD advice (совет) HE CAN SWIM WELL HE MUST STUDY AT SCHOOL HE SHOULD KEEP FIT

3 Can / could  Can is used to express  ability (умение)  ability in the past (умениe в прошлом)  Request (просьба) Study these examples  She can speak English well but she can't write it at all Bill could climb trees when he was young.  Could you close the door, please?

4 CAN or COULD  I___play the piano very well.

5 CAN or COULD  I_can__play the piano very well.

6 CAN or COULD  I___do gymnastics when I was young.
