7 Physical Lifting Lift with your legs, NOT your back! 1. Look at the object and try to guess how much it weighs. 2. Bend at the knees and get close to the object. 3. Grab firmly, keep your back, neck, and head straight. 4. Lift with the big muscles of your legs. 5. Keep the object close to your body. 6. Breathe as you lift.
