Dikshya Mohapatra of class III and Ritwik Sharma of class V have bagged the 1st rank at the school level and the 3rd rank at the National level in the Humming Bird English Olympiad. They have been awarded a gold medal and a wrist watch.

23 ACADEMICS Value Education and Life Skills Programmes have been introduced in classes II to XI. These programmes will help inculcate the abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour to enable children to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life. Classes will be conducted once a week by outsourced professional agencies.

24 ACADEMICS Theatre education, with focus on social sensitivity issues, has been introduced in class 8. The topics being covered are drug addiction, environment etc. These workshops would enhance, not only the communication and presentation skills, but also make students aware, sensitive and proactive.

25 ACADEMICS 8 students of classes IX and X participated in a competition on the “Official Microsoft Specialist Certification“ on 29th April The competition is a gateway to the Worldwide Microsoft Office Specialist Championship- supported by Microsoft Learning and Pearson. The results are awaited.

29 Remedial classes for Maths and Science
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION Remedial classes for Maths and Science A programme for giving remedial intervention to children with special needs in Maths and Science has been initiated. Individual sessions with our students are conducted and innovative techniques adopted. There has been a noticeable improvement in the students academic interest and performance.

30 Summer Classes for special needs students
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION Summer Classes for special needs students Special needs students of classes I to VIII came for remedial classes during the summer break. They were given focused intervention in areas where they had difficulties. If a child had difficulty in reading, he/she was given a remedial programme based on reading. They were given home assignments everyday and parent counseling was done regularly. There was a noticeable improvement in their achievement and in their self-esteem.

44 CRICKET - NATIONALS The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has selected Meer Khan of class X to represent U.P. state in the Under-14 Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy

45 CRICKET - NATIONALS The 10th Double Wicket Nationals were held at Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, on 17th and 18th May’2014. Our school team won the tournament.

46 CRICKET - INTERNATIONAL
A one-day match was organised by Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, between our school team and the South African Cricket Team (Under-14) on 5th April Our school team won the match by 5 wickets.

47 FOOTBALL- NATIONALS Vidhusi Dahiya of class XII represented the Delhi State (Under-19 Girls) in the School Games Federation of India, Nationals held at Pune, Maharashtra, from 26 April 2014 to 30 April 2014.

48 KARATE Jatin Sood of Class X has won Gold Medals in both his Kata & Kumite Events in the 10th All India Kotaka Cup Championship held at Talkatora Stadium on 26th & 27th April, 2014. 

49 KARATE He was also conferred the "Award of Honour" for winning the Gold Medal in the 59th SGFI Nationals by Sensei Yogender Chauhan of the International Karate Federation , India.

50 KARATE Special Achievement
Jatin Sood of class X was selected to represent the Delhi State in the National Karate Championship in "KATA" that was held in May/June, 2014. He has been winning Gold Medals in the Delhi State Karate Championship for the last 7 consecutive years which is a rare achievement for any player.

51 SKATING – SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT
Sarvpreet Singh received a cheque for INR 31000/- from the Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, for his contribution to sports at the National level. It was presented by the Chief Secretary of Delhi. He is an outstanding Skater having won numerous awards and laurels at the Zonal, State, National and International levels.

Our School coach Mr. Dilip Mohanty was a part of the Indian Team which participated in the ITF Senior World Teams Championship held at Florida, USA, from 21 April 2014 to 26 April The team secured 19th Position. The second phase of the ITF Senior World Teams Championship was organised at Florida, USA from 27 April to 4 May Mr. Dilip Mohanty also participated in the 35+ Singles Category. He also participated in the 35+ Doubles Category and reached the Quarter Final.

Multiple Intelligence Camps were organized by Primary Plus for classes III to VIII from 6th to 16th May The students actively participated in various physical activities like Flying Fox, Army Obstacles, Rock Climbing and Aerobics. There was activity based learning for students in the form of Theatre , Build your city , Fun with Grammar and Newsroom. A special show ‘Wendy’ was presented at the end of the camp. The ‘friendly witch’ paid a surprise visit and enamoured one and all  by her acts of magic . She also trained children in voice modulation .

84 FILM MAKING PVR organised a film making workshop cum training programme on 9th April 2014 to complete the second phase of shooting in the school. The movie was showcased in the Grand Finale of the ‘Steer to Safety’ program at PVR, Plaza.

87 OUTSTATION TRIPS A trip to Mumbai was organized for the students of classes I and II from 27th to 30th March A group of 60 students was accompanied by 6 teachers and a parent.

The students enjoyed the scenic beauty of Mashobra and also got a chance to meet their favourite film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Asin and Rishi Kapoor.The students also visited the Rose Garden, Sukhna Lake, Jakhu Temple and Naldehra.

90 OUTSTATION TRIPS Classes III to V went for a trip to Jim Corbett National Park , Nainital and Bhimtal from 19th to 21st May A group of 36 students was accompanied by 4 teachers and a parent. The group enjoyed trekking and activities like mountain climbing and flying fox in Jim Corbett National Park. Visiting the picturesque zoo amongst the hills of Nainital was a fantastic experience.

96 INTERNATIONAL TRIP A group of 40 students and 4 teachers went on an educational and cultural trip to Florida, New York, Washington and Niagara from 25th May 2011 to 4th June They attended a Space Science workshop at the NASA facility in Florida, before visiting popular sites in New York and Washington. Apart from getting an opportunity to observe the American culture closely, the students also got a chance to visit the Empire State building, the Statue of Liberty, Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Universal Studios.

100 ISA ACTIVITIES A group of two teachers and 10 students visited the British Council to celebrate International Women’s Day. They attended an inspirational talk by Ms. Kiran Bedi and Ms. Shabana Azmi, an interactive session with women achievers and also participated in a unique debate on the theme ‘Education, the key to gender equality’.

The first lesson of the Trash Tree Project was initiated on 5 April The students participated in a discussion and survey to analyse their performance on the ‘Reduce, reuse, recycle’ scale. They prepared art work to reinforce the message of social change through art. The students of classes 6 to 10 participated in an inter class Board Decoration Competition. 103 ISA ACTIVITIES Ruchika Goel of class XII was selected by CBSE and the Ministry of HRD, to participate in the prestigious “JENESYS” 2014 program by the Govt. of India. She visited Japan from 26th May 2014 to 3rd June 2014 as a part of the contingent of meritorious students.

ISA ACTIVITIES THE DALAI LAMA BLESSES YOUNG MINDS……….. 22nd March 2014 attained a special place in the hearts of 20 students of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, as they received blessings from His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Gouri Garg of XII B commenced the event by welcoming and introducing His Holiness. Siddharth Chaudhary of XII A offered him the symbolic white scarf. Ishita of XII A was chosen to escort His Holiness. Responding to the audience, His Holiness stressed on the importance of Peace and Compassion and admitted that he was always keen to meet young people because ‘The past is past and cannot be changed, the future remains open like space’. The event left an indelible mark on the minds of all present.

108 ROAD SAFETY CLUB The Vroom Club organised a wall graffiti competition for class X on 2nd May 2014 to spread awareness about road safety issues. The active involvement of parents in the campaign also motivated the students and raised their spirits.

110 ECO CLUB Students from SRCC conducted an orientation programme on 21st April 2014 about the project “YOU TURN”. This project aims at the collection of aluminium foil which can be sent for recycling.

111 ECO CLUB Our students went to the AMERICAN CENTRE on 22nd April 2014 on “EARTH DAY” to attend the workshop on “Natural Colours and Theatre”. They participated in the Poster making competition and won the 1st prize and 2 consolation prizes.

During Messier Marathon on 29th March, 6 students of class X from BBPS, Pitampura, went to SPACE observation site ASTROPORT, Tehla, Rajasthan ,on 29th March and returned on 31st March. They learned various activities like Constellation Watch, Astrophotography, Introduction to Deep Sky Objects ,and Telescope Handling .

120 ASTRONOMY CLUB MARS OBSERVATION: An Evening Sky Watch was conducted in the school on 11th April from 6:30-8:30 P.M. It was conducted for the students of class VI and their parents. The telescopic observation started with the observation of Moon followed by Jupiter and then Mars. After the observation, a presentation was given explaining about some important features of the objects observed through the telescope. ALL INDIA ASTEROID SEARCH CAMPAIGN PHASE I : ALL INDIA ASTEROID SEARCH CAMPAIGN (AIASC) provides exclusive real time sky data, specialized software and training to enable students to search for asteroids, and contribute to tracking Near Earth Objects. Arpit Arora (XII-A) and Harshit Narnoli (X-B) took part in Phase I of the campaign which started on 29th April and ended on 3rd June. Achievements: Eight NEO observations.

123 ASTRONOMY CLUB Science Exhibition Competition: St Margaret School, Prashant Vihar conducted an Inter-school Science Exhibition Competition “Saturnalia” based on Biotechnology and Space Sciences on 25th April’2014. Mrigank Sondhi of VIII and Aviral Srivastava of VIII represented the school and won the 3rd Prize. They made a spacecraft model Mini-LISA, a miniature version of LISA, a space mission which is being designed by NASA and will be launched in 2034 to measure gravitational waves. 125 ASTRONOMY CLUB SATURN OPPOSITION: Saturn was at opposition on 10th May which provided us a unique opportunity to observe Saturn in its brightest phase. An evening observation was conducted for the same. Class VIII-X Astronomy Club students and Primary teachers Club students practicing to set up telescopes ,Club students observing Moon during Saturn Opposition at BBPS ,Pitampura.

128 MONTESSORI A few activities to make students self reliant were organized. The activities included laying the table, making simple sandwiches, taking care of books, buttoning and unbuttoning a shirt etc. The students enjoyed doing these activities.

129 MONTESSORI A few fun filled activities like Theatre, Reading is Fun, Art & Craft, Cooking without Fire, Dance etc. were organized for students of the Montessori Department from 12 May to 22 May, The students showcased these on the stage for the parents on 23 May, The parents appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers to help children master and develop essential skills that go a long way in shaping their all round development.

130 MONTESSORI An in-house ‘Theatre and Techniques in Education’ programme has been initiated for the students of classes I and II. The students get to do a variety of modules like meditation, music therapy, compering, dialogues and narration. The students learn moral values, overcome stage fear and inhibitions through this programme. They become confident and it enhances their communication skills.
