3 What is a fruit? A fruit is: The edible part of a plant product It can be called dessert in meals It is usually washed and eaten uncooked ESTEEMOS

4 What are the properties of Fruit Fresh and dry fruits are the natural staple food of man and give GOOD HEALTH. They contain essential NUTRIENTS They are excellent sources of minerals, vitamins and enzymes They are easily digested and CLEANSE the BLOOD. They are MEDICINAL- some ailments can be treated with fruits. ESTEEMOS

6 What are the effects of fruits on our body and health Replaces the water we lose from dehydration: Fruits have lots of liquid which is mainly water, sugar and minerals, so it is like drinking healthy water it therefore replaces the water we lose from sweating and the sun. It increases urination and has low salt allowing us to clean out our system ESTEEMOS

8 Provide Energy Provide energy and assist our digestive system - Fruits have simple sugars which are easily digested and completely absorbed when we eat them which means nothing is wasted so they are very useful for sick people that need energy quickly ESTEEMOS

9 Prevents Sickness Improve our Immune system and prevent us from getting sick ESTEEMOS

10 Healthy Bones and Teeth They provide vitamins and calcium which gives us strong bones so we can grow tall, jump and play ESTEEMOS

11 Improves Memory and Attention They increase our blood iron which we need to be healthy and to develop our neurological system (learning). ESTEEMOS

12 Prevent Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension, Abdominal Pain They prevent serious diseases by providing anti-oxidants which decrease the risk of getting cancers ESTEEMOS

13 GOAL Make sure you take AT LEAST a fruit a day to keep sickness away and be healthy FRUIT DAILY= HAPPY CHILD ESTEEMOS
