Faith That Pleases God Hebrews 11:6 belief in the existence of God He who cometh to God must believe that He is Necessary but not sufficient James 2:19 Belief in the goodness of God “and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him” We must believe in the gospel of Christ 1 Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 10:9 Belief in the love God has for us 1 John 4:16 This is our motivation to diligently seek Him

Faith That Pleases God We’re blessed with a like precious faith Peter had We have grace and peace through knowledge of God and our Lord Jesus Knowledge not GNOSIS intellectual knowledge It is EPIGNOSIS experiential knowledge 2 Timothy 3:7 makes the distinction We know God and live because we know Him We escaped corruption in the world thru lust We were purged from our old sins v.9 Because of faith from God’s word Rom. 10:17

Faith That Pleases God We know by obedience and not merely belief We must diligently add to our faith 2 Pt 1:5-11 Feed our faith 1 Pt 2:1-2 If we abound we will be fruitful v.8 If we lack we will be unfruitful v.9; Luke 3:9 Our faith must grow by diligence & activity Is this what is happening to my faith? What else can happen to my faith? Can increase Acts 16:5; 2 Cor. 10:15; 2 Th. 1:3

5. What Can Happen to My Faith? Can be known by others Rom. 1:8; 1 Th. 1:8 Can be perfected 1 Th. 3:10 by obedience James 2:21-23 Can be shipwrecked 1 Tim. 1:19 Can be abandoned 1 Tim. 4:1; 5:12 cast off Can be denied 1 Tim. 5:8 by action (inaction) Can be strayed from 1 Tim. 6:10 by greed Or by false doctrines 1 Tim. 6:20-21 Can be overthrown 2 Tim. 2:18

6. What Can Happen to My Faith? Can be shared Philemon 6 Can be followed Hebrews 13:7 It can be tested James 1:3 It will be tested Can be known by Jesus Rev. 2:19 IS known by Jesus Can be kept Rev. 14:12; 2 Tim. 4: 7 Keep your faith Diligently add to it Share it with others
