12 A Postgraduate Specialisation program in Psychomotor Therapy exists since 1964 in the Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy at the K.U. Leuven

13 During these 36 years 500 specialists were trained who work now: l in Belgian psychiatric hospitals l in special schools l in centres for special education for children and adults

14 This specialisation program at a university level is unique l In Belgium l in Europe l in the whole world

15 And therefore we want to open it for students coming from other countries (in English)

16 Special Topics l Psychomotor therapy in patients with Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa) l Psychomotor Therapy in psychiatric patients with mood disorders or anxiety disorders l Psychomotor Therapy in Children

17 Psychomotor therapy in patients with Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa) l distorded body experience l hyperactivity l fear to lose selfcontrol

18 Goals for Psychomotor Therapy l rebuilding a realistic self-image l curbing hyperactivity, impulses and tensions l developping social skills l learning how to enjoy the body

19 Psychomotor Therapy in psychiatric patients with mood disorders or anxiety disorders

20 Therapeutic Goals l reduction of feelings of anxiety, tension and depression l rebuilding an adequate self-esteem through regular success- achievements l rebuilding an adequate body image and selfesteem l confrontation with healthy behavior and healthy movement behavior

33 Conditions of Entry l Basic diploma in Physical Education or Physiotherapy (EMDAPA) l a written motivation before the 31 of May 2002 l registration fee at the K.U. Leuven is 460 EURO

34 EXEMPTION l If candidate-students already think that they have credits for one or more of the lectures l they can ask for exemption by sending the content of the courses signed by their university
