4 Derbyshire County Council Children and Younger Adults Department History and creation  Review of current training offer within LA – targeted Training Directory  GRID – membership and external funded training –audit of provision across Derbyshire  Development of a VCI Training Directory – with some overlap e.g. First Aid  The initial training was based around the CWDC Common Core Skills and Knowledge and the CWDC Induction Standards  5 core sessions identified and an initial pilot was carried out in NE Derbyshire and South Derbyshire – initially this was externally funded  In 2010 DCC embedded the training within its core provision  In 2010 the passport gained IIQ status with NCFE  2011 The Derbyshire Volunteer Passport was rolled out across Derbyshire  Nov 2011 – Volunteer Passport Licence launched in London 

6 Derbyshire County Council Children and Younger Adults Department Quality  Ofsted – adhere to inspection teaching and learning quality requirements  Occupational competencies – skills and knowledge  Qualifications – PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent  IfL membership  Investors in Quality recognised status  competencies  moderation  consistency and standardisation  review and evaluations  Awarding body requirements for centre approval

7 Derbyshire County Council Children and Younger Adults Department Passport Licence Offer * Buying into the Volunteer Passport is a cost effective way for any organisation to:  Equip volunteers with core training  Retain and respect current volunteers  Recruit new volunteers  Confidence and skills  First steps to career pathways Meet your Big Society and localism objectives
