8. 7 What is the HP VTL solution?  VTL - allows 3 rd party backup software to perform backup/restore to a disk-based ‘virtual tape/library’ over high- speed FC or IP SANs.  Emulates a large number of industry standard tape libraries and tapes drives from varying major vendors  The base system has the ability to support up to:  10 concurrent backup hosts  50 concurrent backup or restore sessions  50 virtual tape drives or 20 virtual tape libraries  100 virtual tape cartridges  The VTL can import / export to physical tape libraries  The VTL solution can replicate data over IP to an independent site
