2. The Adult Education Service has zero tolerance on all practices that excludes and singles out any individual or group.

3. This includes name calling, jokes, verbal abuse, insults, criticism and comments.

4. What you said…. As a learner I want to feel safe and free from any form of insult - I want my fellow learners to feel the same. The A dult Education Service will aim to ensure this happens!

5. What you said… “If I hear a joke or comment that may impact on a particular group or individual what can I do?”

6. Answer Report the incident. This will be dealt with confidentially and quickly.

7. Where appropriate, the tutor will take up the challenge in an open discussion with the group. The tutor will also report the incident to their line manager.

13. Each complaint will be dealt with, action taken and/or reported to the council. A Diversty incident form to be completed (this can be confidential).

14. In some circumstances, an individual may be dismissed from the class in line with our policies and procedures.
