3 About us… “King Ferdinand I” High School, previously called Grup Şcolar Energetic Timişoara, now includes ex-”Tudor Tanasescu” High School as well “King Ferdinand I” High School, previously called Grup Şcolar Energetic Timişoara, now includes ex-”Tudor Tanasescu” High School as well Grup Şcolar Energetic Timişoara was founded in 1972 as part of the former Ministry of Electric Power. It is located in the north-east of Timişoara, in the western part of the country, in the vicinity of the Green Forest, Victor Babeş Hospital and ex- ”Tudor Tanasescu” High School. It is located in the north-east of Timişoara, in the western part of the country, in the vicinity of the Green Forest, Victor Babeş Hospital and ex- ”Tudor Tanasescu” High School. ”Tudor Tanasescu” High School had a long tradition in education. In 1933, it was set up as “The Professional Course for Industrial Apprentices”, which in 1948 became “The Metalurgical Vocational School”, then “School of Crafts” in 1958 and in 1964 “The Vocational School near the Mechanics Plant” in Timisoara. Since 1974 the school has been changed into a vocational high school and has had several names. ”Tudor Tanasescu” High School had a long tradition in education. Thus, we adapted the professional requirements according to the local and European labour markets:  Electronics and automation  Electrical engineering  Electro-mechanics  Mechanics  Commerce  Economics

5 At “Regele Ferdinand I” High School Our students get technical training certificates (level 1, 2 and 3) for the following qualifications:  electrical engineering technician  electrical wiring technician  electrical equipment and appliances electrician  electrical engineering worker  mechatronics  CAD technician  technician in economic activities  trade worker  Our students have the chance to participate in national and international projects and partnerships

6 SCHOOL FACILITIES Our school has two buildings with various facilities: - 39 classrooms - laboratories (physics, chemistry, computer, biology, electric devices and electric systems) - workshops (mechanic, electric and electronic workshops) - a library - a cafeteria - two football fields - a gym - a dormitory We have over 1500 pupils who attend full-time high school classes, foremen classes and part-time courses

7 TEACHING STAFF We have 80 highly-qualified teachers in several departments / curricular areas: Language and communication Mathematics and sciences Man and society Technologies Counselling and professional orientation.

8 THE CURRICULAR AREA LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION The Language and Communication curricular area is divided into two departments: Romanian Language and Literature Foreign Languages which include English, French and German.

9 THE CURRICULAR AREA of MATHEMATICS and SCIENCES This curricular area is composed of two departments: Mathematics and Physics Chemistry and Biology

10 THE CURRICULAR AREA MAN AND SOCIETY This curricular area is composed of two departments: Socio-human subjects including: History, Geography, Religion, Economy, Psychology, Civics; Physical Education

11 THE CURRICULAR AREA TECHNOLOGIES This curricular area is composed of two departments: Electrical engineering and Mechanics Master instructors

12 THE CURRICULAR AREA COUNSELLING AND PROFESSIONAL ORIENTATION This curricular area consists of tutoring teachers and two psychologists who are responsible for the pupils’ private counselling and professional orientation.
