4 A Note About Books Each book will be accompanied with a few questions you must answer to receive credit for reading it. If I invest in a book for you… 1. You must highlight and mark up the book to make the best of it. 2. You must complete the book and submit the questions within a certain time frame.  2 months for Level 2, Level 3, and Spiritual books

20 The Ministry: Investing in Others These apply to people who aren’t in your typical circle of friends, and specifically to the 3 rd generation:  Attending a sporting or extracurricular event  Other conscious efforts to invest in other people 1 pt per event, up to 2 pts per week

21 The Ministry: Investing in Others  Sending members photos taken of them at youth group events  Bringing them favorite snacks to arrive on their birthdays  Taping notes of encouragement on their front door (or themselves) during exams or other stressful periods  Use a member as a positive illustration for a sharing  Asking members (one-on-one) to pray for you  Calling members on their first day of school & praying for them  Doing something special in youth group for someone’s birthday (outside your group of friends) 

22 The Ministry: Ownership  Leading a youth group meeting (up to 3 pts, limit once every two months)  Making connections (up to 2 pts)  Example: watching a movie and relating its theme to Christianity  Example: paying attention to your friend’s or sibling’s needs and coming up with a topic for a youth group meeting  Example: reading something that inspires you to want to teach it so you come up with a lesson plan  What scenes would you show? What theme would you talk about? What discussion questions would you use?
