3. Rhythm The pattern of sounds, beats, or speed in a poem. It is like singing a song. Rhyme Words that sound the same such as “cat” and “hat,” or “shoe” and “two.” Alliteration When several words in the sentence begin with the same consonant sound. Example: dance, dare, and drop.
