2  Compulsory voting is the requirement to vote.  37 Countries have implemented compulsory voting.  In some Countries compulsory voting has increased voter turnout by 30%.

3  The United States of America should implement compulsory voting.

4  Everyone wants what is best for the nation.

5  Many Americans are against compulsory for the following reasons:  Takes away the freedom not to participate  Careless voting

6  Laziness  Forgot to register  Inconvenient  No ideal candidate

7  40.1% of all Americans voted in the 2008 election.  Turnout lowered in every state  America ranks 139 th out of 172 countries in voter turnout.  186 million eligible voters  130 million registered voters  126 million voters voted in the 2012 election
