2 SoftLab/Mic Block 3 - Conditions for an Order to be Called
Determined by System Administrator, possible conditions could include: Orders selected TO BE CALLED in Order Entry window (Check box is checked). Specimens selected TO BE CALLED in Result Entry window (Check box is checked). All tests with PANIC results. Specific predefined individual tests that MUST be called regardless of result value, e.g., PROT and APTT. Tests that are selected life threatening or other criteria under RBS Setup. All orders with Stat priority. All orders that contain abnormal, low, or high results and that are selected as pre-op under Wards/Clinics setup.

Click Call List Request. In the actual module, this would require a double-click.

Ward Displays the ward or clinic ID. Enter a ward ID to include only results associated with the specified ward in the call list. Click the arrow button (or press F2) to select from a list of predefined ward codes. Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. Doctor This field displays the doctor ID. Enter a doctor ID to include only results associated with the specified doctor in the call list. Click the arrow button (or press F2) to select from a list of predefined doctors.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. Reg/Depot Displays the region or depot code. Enter a region or depot code to include only results associated with the specified region/depot in the call list. Click the arrow button (or press F2) to select from a list of predefined codes.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. All Inpatient Calls Click this check box to qualify all inpatient orders on the Call List. Inpatient calls are sorted by the patient's Ward/Clinic. Orders for one patient are grouped together.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. All Outpatient Calls Click this check box to qualify all outpatient orders on the Call List. Predefined test Calls Click this check box to qualify pre-defined Individual tests (as defined by Hosparams) on the Call List.

Life threatening Click this check box to qualify orders with life threatening results (as defined under RBS Setup) on the Call List. Panic results Click this check box to qualify orders with at least one panic result on the Call List.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. Stat orders Click this check box to qualify orders with a Stat priority on the Call List. Pre-op orders Click this check box to qualify orders for Pre-op clinic patients on the Call List. Note: Pre-ops = checked in the Wards/Clinics setup file.

Include calls from: or last day(s) These options enable you to define calls received since a specific date, or within a set number of calendar days. Use the drop-down menus to populate these fields OR may be defaulted by Hosparam.

Click on the slide to see a description of each of the fields in the Call List window. Delete Test Button (F8) The Delete Test button enables you to delete test for a particular session. To delete tests for a particular session click Del. test F8, or press F8 and only tests which are now listed will qualify. Defaults (F9) The Defaults button enables you to restore your defaults.

Click Search when you are finished reading this slide. Search F12 The Search button enables you to search for call requests. After you enter all applicable search criteria, click Search or press F12 to display the Results tab. This tab contains information about how many orders qualified for each condition you specified.

Click the Depot button to display orders to be called for one depot. The list of depots displays (multisite only). Click the ( + ) sign to open a region and double-click the desired order.

Click the Patient button to display orders to be called for one patient. The list of patients (arranged by MRN) displays. Click the ( + ) sign to open a patient and double-click the desired order.

Click the Doctor button to see it’s description. Ward (Sort by ward) The Ward button enables you to display orders to be called for one ward. Click the Specimen button to display orders to be called for certain specimens. The list of specimens displays. Click the ( + ) sign to open a specimen and double-click the desired order.

Click on the slide to see begin seeing Patient Information field descriptions. Order (Sort by order) Click the Orders button to display a list of orders to be called. The list of orders to call displays. Double-click the desired order.

Click on the slide to see the other Patient Information field descriptions. Billing # - This field displays the patient’s billing number. Order - This field displays the patient’s order number. Sex - This field displays the patient’s gender. Patient Information Name (last, first, middle) - This field displays the patient’s full name. MRN - This field displays the patient’s MRN.

Click on the slide to begin seeing the Call Information field descriptions. Patient Information Age - This field displays the patient’s age. Ward - This field displays the ward associated with the patient. Room - This field displays the patient’s room number. Phone - This field displays the patient’s telephone number. More – This button enables you to view additional patient information.

Call Information Call Info - This check box displays the condition, which qualified the order to be called (e.g., Preop, Marked, Specimen, Stat, Panic, Threat). Doctor - This field displays the doctor ID, last and first name, phone number, and extension number. Ward - This field displays the Clinic ID, location, phone number, and extension number. Call Comm - This field displays a free-text comment.

Call Information Called - This check box displays if the call has been completed. Select the check box or press the spacebar if the call has been completed, or clear the check box if the call has not been completed. Person/Msg - Click the arrow button (or press F2) to display a list of available codes or enter a free text message. Select an appropriate code to insert in this field. This field can be used for confirmation purposes (e.g., the person with whom you spoke).

Click on the slide to see the other Call Information field descriptions. Call Information Cancel Call - The Cancel Call button enables you to cancel the current call. To cancel the current call, click the Cancel Call button or press ALT + N.

Click on the slide to see the other Call Information field descriptions. Call Information Order Comm - The Order Comm button enables you to add or view an order comment. Click Order Comm. The Order Comm window displays to enable you to enter a free-text comment or canned message. If a comment already exists for this stay record, a check mark displays on the Order Comm button.

Click on the slide to see the bottom Call Information field descriptions. Call Information Instructions - This button enables you to access the special calling instructions. Depending on the setup, this instruction window will open automatically. To reopen this window, click the Instruction button or click ALT + C.

Click here to add a successful call comment and to check the Called box. Notice the description of a non-answered call attempt. Call Information Bottom Section of Window. These grids display a history of each call attempt until a successful call is made, as indicated by a check in the Called check box. There is no limit to the number of call history entries.

Prior to clicking Print, click Save. The completed Person/Msg has been entered and the Called field checked.

Click to deselect the check in the Match field. You have just sent a fax to a number already loaded in the system. We will now demonstrate how to send a fax number that is not in the system.

Select the Remote Printers tab. Ad Hoc Faxing Used for faxing to numbers not loaded into system (i.e. patient’s doctor back home, etc.) Uncheck the “Match” box and enter desired fax number Click OK
