1 CTS* Project Regulation and Licensing Department Status July 20, 2012 Lori Hewig, IT Director and Project Manager * Construction Tracking System (formerly known as PICS)

2 Project Scope Design, develop and deploy a comprehensive electronic permitting and inspection system incorporating the architecture, infrastructure and database design of RLD’s IECC 2009 Energy Code “e-compliance” system. The consolidated system will replace the legacy unsupported KIVA system currently in use. Application includes modules for application administration, permit and plan review, inspections, and a citizens’ portal. Phase I: Perform business process analysis for the current KIVA application and develop the requirements and use cases for the CTS System. Phase II: Using the specifications gathered in Phase I, complete the build, test and deployment stages of the project. Phase III (added May 2012) : enhance base software for added functionality

3 Project Schedule Planning Phase I: Scope definition, business process analysis, and requirements: Completed 12/2011 Implementation Phase II: Database Design, Deployment and Data Migration: 1/2012 Administration Module: 2/2012 Permit and Plan Review Module: 3/2012 Inspection Module: 3/2012 Citizens’ Portal: 4/2012 Enhancements Phase III: Modify administration and user modules to accommodate duplicate inspections, assessment of various fees, fee estimation, tracking of plan resubmittals, and enhanced scheduling features for inspectors : 6/2012 Testing: Testing will take place at the end of each module’s development KIVA data cleanup and CTS configuration: 8/2012 Training: 10/2012 Implementation Planning: 12/2012 Production Rollout: 1/2013
