3. MANCS (PAW) 1994 – 2006

4. BIRTH HHis full name is Miskolci Sátán Mancs; 1994 – 22 October 2006. He was a German sheperd, boar dog. He was a rescue dog for the Spider Rescue Team of Miskolc. HHe had eleven brothers and sisters in the litter. When he was six moths old, his keeper realized that there is a problem with one of his back legs. The vet diagnostized displasy. With a homemade equipment within half a year his birth defect was corrected.

5. MANCS, THE HERO WWith his keeper László Lehóczki he took part in many successfull life-saving actions. He became very famous after the earthquake of Izmit in 1999, when a three year old girl was rescued under the ruins with his help. Mancs worked in the rescue actions of the earthquakes of Salvador and India in 2001. Thanks to his special training he was able to signal the dead body even under water. He was able to give different signals on the same spot if found a live or dead body. This performance and a lot of actions he took part in made him the best Hungarian rescue dog ever.

6. LAST BARK IIn October 2006 he got pneumonia and died. His keeper buried him in his own garden behind closed doors. In the following weeks his statue in the city became a place of pilgrimage. People lit candles there.
