Standl National Action Forum Diabetes mellitus (NAFDM) Founded October 7, 2004 Aims: Improvement in awareness, prevention, early detection, care and research of diabetes through visualization and coordination of all actions and groups. The Deutsche Diabetes Union coordinates the NAFDM. The coordination of the NAFDM is currently supported by the Ministry of Health, Aventis Foundation and others. Position statements for prevention and patient care have been published in April 2005. A research statement and two National Diabetes Studies are in preparation.
