2 Positive – no comparison is made or shown.
Examples: They’re rich. I’m poor. Comparative – Two persons or things are being compared, and one of the two is higher or lower in degree. Examples: They’re richer than I. I’m poorer now than when I had a job.

3 Superlative – Three or more persons or things are being compared, and one of them is the highest or lowest in degree. Examples: Of my three sisters, Dolly is the most generous. She’s the best sister in the world.

4 How are comparisons indicated?
By adding –er or –est to most adjectives of one or two syllables. Examples: Positive Comparative Superlative kind kinder kindest humble humbler humblest By adding more and most or less and least to adjectives of three or more syllable. studious intelligent more, most studious less, least intelligent Examples:

5 By changing the form of irregular adjectives.
Examples: little bad, ill good, well far many, much late less worse better farther, further more later least worst best farthest, furthest most last, latest

6 By using an adjective with the word as to form a phrase that would suggest equality or sameness.
Examples: My sister is beautiful as my mother. The speeding car is fast as the train.

7 Activity: Complete the table.
