2 We can use comparative adjectives when talking about two things (not three or more things). In the example below, "bigger" is the comparative form of the adjective "big": bigger A 1 than A 2. ADJECTIVE + ER + THAN MORE + ADJECTIVE + THAN Adjectives are words that describe the noun.

3 One syllable adjectives adjective + er + than clean cleaner than old older than Ohrid is cleaner than Skopje. The cathedral is older than the museum

4 One syllable adjectives ( consonant + vowel + consonant) Double the final consonant + er + than big bigger than hot hotter than Skopje is bigger than Ohrid. Dojran is hotter than Ohrid.

5 One syllable adjectives (adjective ending in -e) adjective + r + than safe safer than large larger than New York is safer than Mexico City. Mexico City is larger than Madrid.

6 Two or more syllables adjectives more + adjective + than expensive more expensive than interesting more interesting than London is more expensive than Skopje. Barcelona is more interesting tnan Bilbao.

7 Two syllable adjectives ending in - y replace –y witn -ier +than busy busier than pretty prettier than Skopje is busier than Bitola. This building is prettier than the tower.
