8 Foundational Phase 1. This phase comprises a 5-year duration. 2. This phase focuses on the Age Group 3 - 8. 3. This phase forms Anganwadi / Preschool / Balvatikas, Classes from 1st to 2nd Class. 4. This stage’s focus on language development and activity or play- based learning. 5. Formal Structure Learning will be absent.

9 Preparatory Phase 1. This phase consists of 3 years duration. 2. This phase focuses on the Age Group 8 - 11. 3. The classes are from 3rd to 5th Class. 4. Activity-based interactive learning. 5. Three Languages will be taught. 6. Regional Language will be primary teaching mode.

10 Middle Phase 1. This phase comprises a 3-year duration. 2. This phase focuses on the Age Group 11-14. 3. The classes are from 6th to 8th Class. 4. Understanding of maths, science, arts & humanities. 5. Compulsorily study one vocational subject. (Eg. Coding to be taught from class 6 onwards.)

11 Secondary Phase 1. This Final phase consists of 4 years Duration 2. This phase focuses on the Age Group 14-18. 3. It includes classes from 9th to 12th Class. 4. No hard separation of Art, Commerce, Science. All will be mixed with curriculum. Multidisciplinary Orientation. 5. This stage focuses on developing skills and critical thinking abilities. Ensure all round Development.

35 REGULATORY SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION Higher Education Commission of India (HECI) National Higher Education Regulatory Council (NHERC) National Accreditation Council (NAC). Higher Education Grants Council (HEGC) General Education Council (GEC)

36 National Higher Education Regulatory Council (NHERC) Role ● It will function as the common, single point regulator for the higher education sector including teacher education and excluding medical and legal education. ● Light but Tight Regulation

37 National Accreditation Council (NAC) Role ● Accreditation will be supervised and overseen by NAC and it will be carried out by an independent ecosystem. ● Accreditation of institutions will be carried out on basic norms, public self-disclosure, good governance and outcomes.

38 Higher Education Grants Council (HEGC) Role ● HEGC will carry out funding and financing of higher education. ● HEGC will do the disbursement of scholarships and developmental funds for launching new focus areas in all discipline and areas.

39 General Education Council (GEC) Role ● GEC will frame expected learning outcomes for higher education programmes. ● GEC will formulate National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF) and it shall be in sync with the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) to ease the integration of vocational education into higher education.

40 General Education Council (GEC) Role ● GEC shall set up facilitative norms for issues, such as credit transfer, equivalence, etc., through the NHEQF. ● GEC will identify specific skills that students must acquire, so to prepare him for 21st century skills.
