3 Ones unit Count the ones! There are 8 ones. The value of 8 ones is 8. Count the ones! There are 10 ones. 10 ones make 1 ten.

4 Tens sticks Count the tens! There are 2 tens. The value of 2 tens is 20. Count the tens! There are 10 tens. 10 tens make 1 hundred.

5 Hundreds flats Count the hundreds! There are 2 hundreds. The value of 2 hundreds is 200 Count the hundreds! There are 10 hundreds. 10 hundreds make 1 thousand.

7 Let’s try 11 tens 1 hundred + 1 ten 100+ 10 = 110
