Evatt ●Evatt is a Model UN Security Council competition for students in Years 9-12. ●During the course of Evatt, participants will: ●Deliver speeches to the Council to persuade other teams of their country’s point of view; ●Lobby and negotiate with other teams in caucus time and in a separate Negotiation chamber; ●Amend the resolution to suit their country’s agenda; ●Ask questions of other countries like in Parliamentary Question Time. ●Vote on the final resolution ●Evatt aims to educate young people about Australia’s place in the world and empower them as active citizens by developing negotiation, teamwork, public speaking, research, and diplomatic skills. Voice ●Voice is a unique public speaking competition for students in Year 7-10. ●During the course of Voice, participants will: ●Develop skills in public speaking and research! ●Hone your ability to think on your feet, assisting you in leadership positions or debating competition in the future. ●Build an increased knowledge about areas pertinent to you as students. ●A chance to meet like minded and engaged young people. ●Voice is a platform in which students solve issues that affect their community, nation, and the world. From homelessness to climate change, UN Youth SA is eager to hear students pitch their big ideas.
