ONTAP System Manager 9.7 – Cluster Setup
Even faster and simpler than previous versions 1 2 3 5 License keys autoloaded Changes in ONTAP 9.7 that make it easier to set up ONTAP systems in a jiffy. After connecting a new system to the management network, it is advertised using industry standard protocols. Windows computers on the same network can see it in the network neighborhood. Details about customers’ networking environment ONTAP has a rich set of capabilities which are now described in words that are familiar with general storage constructs and has as much lesser reliance on NetApp specific details. Preparation of disks in a way that ONTAP can use for allocation. All done automatically according to best practices by adopting smart defaults. ONTAP System Manager 9.7 – Volumes Page
Fast storage inventory search Filtering capabilities Sort based on capacity Use-case 1: Searching based on filtered criteria. Use-case 2: Sorting based on alphabetic priority. Use-case 3: Sort based on Available Capacity : For “Capacity” attribute , responsive sorting and filtering capability will be provided. Key customer benefits: Users would want to sort the volumes based on the ascending or descending order of available “Capacity”. Based on that information: Users would want to use that entity for carving out Qtress, Shares, Quotas etc. Users would want to see that list of top/least consumed volume. Peek views make it easy to compare volumes Filtering and sorting based on volume attributes is fast © 2019 NetApp, Inc. All rights reserved. — NETAPP CONFIDENTIAL — Limited Use Only

Active IQ Unified Manager 9.7 Dashboard
Clear summary status with information you can easily act upon In this release we have designed a brand new, easy to use Dashboard. And the dashboard screen is built with different small panels. Let’s go over them. Management Actions shows problems and potential problems. It makes a suggestion on how to fix issues. In this case, we are running out of space on a specific volume. You can think of it as an intelligent remediation feature. Workload Performance shows how many workloads are assigned with each type of performance policy. This is the integration of NetApp Service Level Manager into Capacity and Performance Capacity panels show the usage status of each cluster managed, a projection of when the cluster will run out of space or exceed optimal performance, and the data compression ratio. The Usage Overview panel enables you sort the list of clusters based on different metrics. The new Security panel show the compliance status of your storage environment and you can zoom in on individual cluster, SVM or volume. Let’s take a closer look at Security management. Simplification, compared to 9.5 or older version. New UI look and feel Dashboard Security, Management actions- Vmware Config advisor © 2019 NetApp, Inc. FabricPool Mirrors ONTAP 9.7 Aggregate-to-bucket relationships support with ONTAP 9.2–9.6 One aggregate to one object bucket Many aggregates can share the same bucket One aggregate tiering to multiple buckets was not supported With ONTAP 9.7 one aggr can tier to multiple buckets Use cases for FabricPool Mirrors Changing cloud providers or migrating between on-premises and cloud Migration is nondisruptive and tiered cold data is not recalled Cloud tier in multiple zones or different providers for added resiliency aggr_1 aggr_2 Different aggregates can be attached to different buckets (1:1) but … Attaching a single bucket/container to all FabricPool aggregates in a cluster may be more beneficial to environments that value manageability over external capacity tier performance (Many:1) aggr_1 © 2019 NetApp, Inc.
