Micropipette Use Twist dial to desired volume
Add disposable pipette tip AND close the lid Press plunger to first stop Insert pipette tip into solution to be transferred Slowly release plunger to retrieve liquid Move pipette tip into desired tube Press plunger past first stop to second stop to transfer liquid, keep the plunger down as you remove it from the tube. 8. Eject tip

Micropipette Use 1. Twist dial to desired volume
. Add disposable pipette tip and close the lid . Press plunger to first stop . Insert pipette tip into solution to be transferred . Slowly release plunger to retrieve liquid . Move pipette tip into desired tube . Press plunger past first stop to second stop to transfer liquid, watch liquid stick to wall of tube. Remove tip, then release plunger. 8. Eject tip
4
- “1st stop” to take in - “2nd stop” to expel
liquid the liquid
5
Always hold micropipette and epitubes at eye level when drawing up liquids

Laboratory Techniques: Using A Micropipette (review of diff sizes, showing ranges for each, uses same pipette we use, safe use review, tips, 1st & 2nd stops, 5:26) The Micropipette and Micropipetting Technique (review, 3 wrences? Otherwise good, 3:08) How to use a Micropipette (University lab, 1st & 2nd stops, new tips each time, check volumn setting, 2:20) Mastering Micropipettes (University of Colorado, Biology lab, setting volume reveiw, adding tip, 1st & 2nd stops, proper time to release plunger, 3:30)

Micropipette tip should be ABOVE the well NOT IN IT!!!!
19
Micropipette tip punched right through the gel
See dye under the wells
