Masthead – Daily Mail Splash - The main story on the front of a newspaper. Photograph - The choice of photograph can be influential in how the story is portrayed to the audience. For instance the topic of c Headline – ‘Children aged ten addicted to social media’ Strapline - Extra introductory headline ‘Happiness dependent on number of ‘likes’ they get, reveals major study. Stand First – Sometimes in capitals Block of text that introduces the story, normally in a different style to the body text and headline. ‘children as young as ten are becoming dependent on social media for their sense of self worth a major study warned’. Caption - Typed text under the photo explaining the image. ‘Ukip chief,54, leaves wife for model, 25’. Former party leader Henry Bolton was seen to neglect his party for Jo Marney who made racist comments. Byline - Where the name of the reporter is included at the beginning of the article.
