1 Federal Work Study @ EVC Student Orientation
Attendance is not a guarantee of a job. There are hundreds of students interested but only 60 jobs available. Very limited supply of money, so we try to be as fair as possible. You were invited because you met the eligibility requirements and completed your paperwork by the priority deadline. You must sign in because that is the only way I will know that you were here. If you don’t see your name on the list then see me afterward. Student Orientation

5 FWS Award Amounts Annual award = $4000
The annual award is the total amount for both the Fall and Spring semesters Everyone’s award is $2500 for the entire school year. 8 FWS Timesheets The rules regarding the time sheets are very important because they affect how you get paid. FWS timesheets are pink. You must turn in an original, pre-printed pink timesheet. You should make a copy for yourself. Use the guidelines on the sheet you were given to record your time correctly. Incorrect timesheets can cause a delay in your check by a whole month. The days worked on the time sheet should include the 21st of the month to the following 20th of the month. Timesheets are due by the 20th of the month. If the 20th falls on the weekend you can bring it on the 19th or the following Monday. If your timesheet was correct and submitted on time, you can pick up your check on the 10th of the following month in room AC-115. Late or incorrect timesheets can delay your paycheck for up to a month.

You have to complete all forms even if you are a returning student. You can submit the forms to me in the Financial Aid Office starting August 13th. I will not accept any incomplete forms. I am not making any appointments. Unless you are a returning student, it is first-come, first served. Keep in mind that if everyone shows up on the 13th there will be long lines so be patient. When you turn in your forms you can look through the list of available jobs and we will schedule an interview with the supervisor. Keep in mind that it is still the summer and many supervisors may not be on campus until the end of August so you may have to wait. You may have to interview with more than one supervisor until you find a job that you like. After you have interviewed with a supervisor and they have hired you then you may begin working the first week of school as long as you are enrolled in at least 6 units. Remember that you must start working by October 1st or you won’t be able to work at all.
