What is myfuture? myfuture is Australia’s National Career Information Service, managed by Education Services Australia (ESA). A government-funded resource, designed for students, parents and carers, teachers and career practitioners to use at school and at home. myfuture: provides tools to assist with career planning, career pathways and work transitions delivers unbiased, high quality resources curated by career experts and professionals ensures student data and information are securely protected allows students to retain their personalised accounts after leaving school.

On the site, you’ll find: 358 occupation descriptions 15,000 vocational and higher education course descriptions 370+ occupation videos 33 career bullseyes 19 industry descriptions 9 My career profile activities. Cathy: Current overview of the interactive content on the myfuture service. The 358 occupations are derived from Australia and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO), a system that collects, publishes and analyses occupation statistics across government agencies. Approximately 15,000 courses are derived from HEIMs/MySkills data and the 19 industry divisions are based on the Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification (ANZSIC). There are approximately 370 occupation videos – not all occupations have an associated video and some have multiple videos. The MCP is a set of nine activities that help students to explore career pathways and develop self-knowledge for career decision-making. The activities generate a list of Suggested Occupations customised to the user.

Features Occupation search Over 350 profiles providing an overview of the main tasks performed in each occupational group, skill level required and labour market information such as average salary and future employment projections. Explore similar occupations, and possible education pathways. Course search Descriptions for approximately 15,000 higher education and vocational courses delivered by Australian universities, TAFEs and RTOs. Updated monthly. Assist others resources Resources for generalist or specialist careers teachers and practitioners.

Features Career insight Over 100 articles providing information about work experience, internships, apprenticeships, writing resumes, applying for jobs, interviews etc. Industry information Essential information about Australia’s 19 different industries, with details of employment and salary prospects, and links to industry associations. Career bullseyes 33 interactive resources designed to help students explore occupations by learning area and qualification level – available to download and print too! Case studies More than 100 real career stories detailing individual career pathways through VET, higher education and into the workforce.

Useful information Newsletters
Sign up for newsletters on your Account Details page. Newsletters are sent to teachers, career practitioners, students and parents. Newsletters suggest tools and resources and provide timely career information about career events, open days etc. Newsletter content for each user group is personalised for each state and territory.

Assist Others Resources for teachers and career practitioners
