For practice, they will then apply what they know about main idea to research an animal of choice. As they research, they will identify the main idea and supporting details about their animal articles. Writing Skills: On the weekly lesson tests, students are now writing their written responses independently. We will continue to practice the skills involved in organizing our writing with the hamburger structure. We will practice writing a topic sentence (stating the main idea), 3 support details, and a conclusion sentence (restating the main idea). English Skills: Using abbreviations (look for a completed abbreviations packet on Friday!)
