3 For building owners, engineers, and contractors,
Z1072-ZShield™ barrier trap seal device For building owners, engineers, and contractors, Zurn Industries provides traps and primers that prevent sewer gases from entering buildings through drains, allowing you to maintain a safe building environment Z1022GS sani-guard automatic trap primer

4 voice of customer industries
“I need products that are durable and have a low total cost of ownership + require minimum downtime for maintenance.” building owner architect & engineer “I need products that are durable and cost-effective.” “I need products that are easy and cost-effective to install and maintain, that are assembled and packaged in a manner that streamlines labor.” contractor Healthcare | Retail | Food Service | Hospitality | Restaurants | Institutional/Education | Government

5 how it works step-by-step
create water seal Water seal prevents sewer gases from entering the building through the drain 1 maintain water level Water is replenished after each use of the faucet/drain but water may evaporate if not used frequently 2 replenish water level Maintain appropriate water levels in the trap by either using a regularly used faucet/drain -OR- connecting a primer that will replenish water supplies in the trap. *Adding a Z1072 trap seal can reduce evaporation 3

6 Test Your Knowledge How do Zurn traps function?
Place the following in the correct order: Water is replenished after each use of the faucet/drain but water may evaporate if not used frequently Maintain appropriate water levels in the trap by either using the faucet/drain or connecting a primer that will replenish water supplies in the trap Water seal prevents sewer gases from entering the building through the drain

7 features & benefits traps
Z1000 deep seal trap, with cleanout plug; provides 4” of trap seal, with bronze cleanout plug Z1005 deep seal trap with adjustable cover features & benefits traps prevents sewer gas, odors, and insects from entering up thru drain Typically connected to the bottom outlet of the floor drain Z1019 funnel drain with p-trap, with bronze cleanout plug key features Dura-coated cast iron body P-trap primer connections allow automatic trap primers to be connected to provide water to the trap Often, a trap primer connection is already on the floor drain No-hub and threaded connections available Optional –FL flushing connections Z1012 deep seal trap with floor cleanout, used when the cleanout is recessed below the floor in an access box; where waste is being directly discharged through a pipe into the top of a funnel and a p-trap is desired below

8 features & benefits primers, automatic
Z1021 water saver trap primer, with 1½” copper sweat connection; chrome plated finish; escutcheon to conceal wall opening; braided hose is ½” female threaded connection with compression fittings features & benefits primers, automatic supplies water to trap A trap primer supplies a dose of water to the trap in order to keep the trap full of water, to maintain its seal. Typical traps may provide 2½” of trap seal. Must be connected to a water source and is activated periodically key features Z1021 – supplies lavatory waste water to an additional trap by drawing excessive water from the trap below the sink, and diverting it through a braided host to a p-trap at a floor drain Z1022 – potable water is diverted from the supply line by the trap primer and sent through the bottom of the trap primer to the p-trap. Must be used on a line with a static pressure range from psi and requires a pressure drop of 2 to 3 psi across the trap primer. Most standard sized valves will allow for this pressure drop but some low flow valves may not have enough water flow to activate the trap primer Z1022GS sani-guard automatic trap primer, typically on a supply line from a lavatory or flush valve connection in a commercial building

9 features & benefits primers, electronic
Z1020 electronic trap primer supplies water to trap A trap primer supplies a dose of water to numerous traps in order to keep the traps full of water, to maintain their seals. Electronic primers are used in locations where no supply line is nearby; serves drains up to 60 feet away Z1020 electronic trap primer Supplies water to 1-5 traps; must be connected to a water source and is activated periodically (usually every 24 hours); operated by an internal control panel. Comes with 4 caps that cap off an outlet that is not in use -available as 1020XL lead-free version available

10 features & benefits fittings
Z1023 trap primer connection adapter, used below a floor drain without a trap primer connection; 2”, 3”, 4” connects traps and primers to drains Highly durable connectors key features Dura-Coated cast iron body Adapters – connection, hub, no-hub, and elbow Reducers – inside calk, female pipe thread, female pipe eccentric Z1040 male thread, no-hub adapter; 8 sizes – 2”-12”
