Day 1 – Land Navigation (1-73 CAV)
MISSION 1-73 CAV executes Land Navigation training/testing IVO Area J IOT prepare/test the BDE’s Paratroopers for upcoming EIB testing. COMMANDER’S INTENT PURPOSE: Conduct training/testing within EIB conditions IOT facilitate knowledge and confidence within the skills associated with Land Navigation KEY TASKS: Establish support architecture for event Execute IAW BDE round robin design END STATE: All designated Paratroopers in BDE familiarized on test conditions of land navigation and postured to continue to testing. TRAINING NOTES 10 total lanes can support upwards of 10 personnel per day iteration. With testing beginning at we have the ability to put 120 paratroopers through the course for the day iteration. Incorporating a 15 min dispersing between candidates. Overview “GO” or “NO-GO” EVENT w/ NO RE-TEST 12 MI FORCED MARCH IAW FM (PHYSICAL FITNESS TRAINING ALL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE 3 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE PRESCRIBED COURSE WITH THE ASSIGNED PACKING LIST SOLDIERS ON PERMANENT PROFILE CANNOT BE TESTED ON THIS EVENT COURSE IS ALMOST ENTIRELY ON SAND TRAILS, THE CONDITION OF WHICH WILL BE WEATHER DEPENDENT. FLA SUPPORT WILL BE LOCATED AT THE BEGINNING, MID POINT, AND TURN AROUND POINT TWO WATER BUFFALOS WILL BE ON THE COURSE; ONE AT THE START AND ONE AT THE TURN AROUND POINT THERE ARE TWO CROSSING POINTS ON HARD BALL ROADS. THESE POINTS WILL BE MANNED WITH A 2 CROSSING GUARDS WHO WILL BE EQUIPPED WITH REFLECTIVE VESTS, CONE FLASHLIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS. Weapons: 2BCT Medical: IN Patrols: IN 12 Mile Ruck: CAV Final Event: 2BCT Ceremony: IN Each Individual Testing Station should be established with the following at a minimum: Authorized stopwatches for timing. All required weapon systems and equipment for each selected task. Adequate lighting, overhead cover, ground cloth, and field tables if needed. Dividers that prevent Candidates from observing each other while testing. Adequate spreadsheets/scoresheets and administrative materials. Adequate safety requirements. Minimum of two Graders and an NCOIC/OIC. Copies of all Tasks, Conditions, Standards, and performance measures for all Graders. All Tasks, Conditions, Standards, and performance measures printed on large poster board in holding area. Individual Testing Stations will be executed inside the established three lanes (Weapons, Medical, and Patrol). There should be adequate distance inside the established lanes to execute all Individual Testing Stations. In order to facilitate Candidate throughput, Units should plan on establishing multiple sub-stations inside of each Individual Testing Station based on Unit numbers of EIB Candidates.
