20
Pathways for 4NA For students who are only interested in the PFP:
You should progress to Sec 5, and apply for the PFP in January. Students who have accepted their PFP offers will withdraw from Sec 5 by the end of January. Being eligible to apply for the PFP does not guarantee a successful placement into a PFP course. For students who are only interested in the DPP: You should apply to the DPP. Students who have accepted their DPP offers in December should not continue with Sec 5. Please inform the school General Office and 4NA CCs so that we need not reserve a place for you in Sec 5 in 2020.
21
Pathways for 4NA For students who are uncertain and/or interested in both PFP and DPP: If you are certain that you do not want to continue with Sec 5 and pursue the GCE O-Level, you SHOULD apply for the DPP in December. Upon the release of the GCE O-Level results in January, eligible students may apply for the PFP. If you are offered and accept a PFP place, you can then withdraw from the DPP. Alternatively (Not Advisable) You may progress to Sec 5 first. Upon release of the GCE O-Level results in January, you may then apply for the PFP and DPP concurrently (however, DPP chances will decrease after 1st round in Dec)
22
Pathways for 4NA (3) Progression to Sec 5NA ELMAB3* ≤ 19
At least N(A)-level Grade 5 for all subjects used in computing ELMAB3 (i.e. CANNOT have any “U” grade for ELMAB3) Should still register for ITE now *Note that a minimum of grade 5 for computation of ELMAB3 (i.e. U grade will NOT be considered for computation of ELMAB3 scores)
23
Computation of ITE Aggregate Points for N(A) subjects
Pathways for 4NA (4) Progression to ITE 2-yr Nitec 2 Years Higher Nitec/Poly (GPA score dependent) Bonus points for passes in N(A) English Language, Mathematics or Science are awarded, for admission to full-time Nitec courses. Maximum bonus points subtracted is capped at 4. Students who sat for subjects in the GCE O-Level Examination are also allowed to use their school-based O-Level preliminary examination results for application. The O-Level grade should first be converted to the N(A)-Level grade, before computing the ITE aggregate score. Registration starts NOW Computation of ITE Aggregate Points for N(A) subjects N(A) Grades ITE Aggregate Points 1,2 1 3 2 4 5 U
24
Pathways for 4NA Retention criteria for Sec 4NA (must meet ALL below)
ELMAB3* ≤ 21, or ELB3* ≤ 14, or MAB3* ≤ 14; and AGE < 18 (IS) or < 20 (Singaporean/PR) as at 2 Jan 2020 onwards; and Sat for GCE N(A) Exam only once previously. *Note that a minimum of grade 5 for computation of ELMAB3 (i.e. U grade will NOT be considered for computation of ELMAB3 scores. All N(A) students who sat for subjects in the GCE O-Level Examination, may use their school-based O-Level preliminary examination results to compute their eligibility for retention in Sec 4N(A). The GCE O-Level grade or O-Level preliminary examination grade should first be converted to the N(A)-Level grade. )
25
Pathways for 4NT Transfer to Sec 4NA
If you have achieved Grade A for both English Language (EL) and Mathematics (MA), and Grade B or better for one other subject at the N(T)-level in one sitting 4NA 2019 (Chance for 5NA, DPP, PFP JC/Poly) Progression to ITE Sec 4N(T) students with 0 or 1 N-level subject pass will be given the option to enrol into a pilot enhanced Nitec Foundation Programme (e-NFP). The e-NFP will help these students build the necessary literacy and numeracy foundation that will enable them to successfully complete their Nitec courses
26
Pathways for 4NT (3) Retention at Sec 4NT
To cater to students who have applied but were not successful in securing any ITE course (including the e-NFP) by end January 2019, school can consider requests from such students to repeat their GCE N(T) examinations on a case-by-case basis. Students are only allowed to repeat the GCE N(T)-level examination once. Students who have been offered at least one Nitec course or the e-NFP are to enrol in ITE, and are not allowed to repeat.
