DARTS – Engineer/Test Cell Users
July 2, 2018 Cummins Internal Use Only
2
Topics DARTS Overview DARTS Data Movement – Overview DARTS Path
What are not allowed in DARTS Cyflex Version Send Data from Cyflex to DARTS Steady-State Data dlogger Send DATA from Indicom to DARTS AVL Set up Contact Information Appendix – Setting Up Concerto Cummins Internal Use Only
3
DARTS Overview DARTS is short for Data Analysis ReposiTory System
DARTS is the PAM replacement ++ More types of data will included in the future such as Emissions, etc. Like PAM Steady state headers Datapoints MUA data Better than PAM RAPID dlogger Indicom ifiles ECFG / XCAL (on Z drive) ECM parameters / units* Enhanced USER keywords* Central Node Test Cell DARTS * Coming late 2018 – requires CyFlex 6.3
4
DARTS Data Movement – Overview
Configuring Cyflex Central Node for DARTS During transition period, Data will be sent to both DARTS and PAM. Cummins Internal Use Only
5
DARTS Path DARTS requires the following keywords:
Program has to be valid DARTS program (or McParts engine family), refer to: Valid Programs for DARTS DARTS Path engine_specs pam_specs dlogger_specs afix avl_link Engine Program Code program C_PROGRAM @PROGRAM “$program” Test Name test_type C_TEST_TYPE @TEST_TYPE “$test_type” Test Mode Name mode C_MODE @MODE “$mode” Test Data Group Name group C_GROUP @GROUP Test ID @TEST_ID “$tpid” or “$Test_ID” tpid or Test_ID Group by Date* group_by_date C_GROUP_BY_DATE * ‘Group by date’ is a flag to DARTS to turn off auto date grouping Cummins Internal Use Only
6
DARTS Path (Cont.) The DARTS Path can be thought of as a folder to contain data For Steady-State data, a header with the DARTS path needs to be sent before sending datapoints (i.e. create the DARTS folder to contain the data) Run eng_specs If Datapoint files are sent with no header: Datapoint files will be stored in hold folder Errors will be displayed on the DARTS Job Status page Datapoint files need to be resent after Header was sent to DARTS Cummins Internal Use Only
7
What’s not allowed in DARTS
Duplicate keywords in a datapoint is not allowed Same keyword with different valid suffix or extension ‘.’ are not considered duplicate. PAM groups are not supported in DARTS DARTS paths are the replacement Probably will want to set group_by_date to ‘false’ to prevent auto group dating Make it sub-bullet point for suffix Only preferred keyword will be in DARTS, PAM aliases will not be in DARTS Cummins Internal Use Only
8
Sending Steady-State Data
DARTS path need to be updated in the engine_specs file Edit /specs/engine_specs.nnn file (nnn refers to the test cell number) Add program, test_type, mode, group parameters Optionally, add group_by_date parameter. If set to FALSE it will inhibit DARTS from grouping by date Run eng_specs command This creates ‘folder’ in the DARTS landing zone Check on DARTS Job Status page to verify if header file is successfully loaded Cummins Internal Use Only
9
Sending Steady-State Data
Example of engine_specs.nnn: DARTS Paths information DARTS Paths information Cummins Internal Use Only
10
Sending Steady-State Data
Example of engine_specs.nnn: “group_by_date” if set to FALSE – This will inhibit DARTS from grouping by date. Cummins Internal Use Only
11
Sending Steady-State Data
Update pam_spec file, add DARTS path and group_by_date labels Labels should be the same with engine_specs. Cummins Internal Use Only
12
Sending Steady-State Data
Run take_dum_fr after pam_specs is updated Check on DARTS Job Status page, to verify if datapoint file is successfully loaded Notes: ** The Program label must be set to a valid DARTS program name (usually the same as the McParts engine family name) ** The values of test_type, mode, and group labels must be set as per best practices defined by the test team leader Cummins Internal Use Only
13
Sending Dlogger Data Dlogger is similar to floger, except
dlogger data will automatically be sent to DARTS Requires DARTS path information Requires DARTS (PAM) keywords as channels Cummins Internal Use Only
14
Sending Dlogger Data Dlogger Setup: Create dlogger spec file
Example dlogger spec file content: Dlogger ID DARTS Path Cummins Internal Use Only
15
Sending Dlogger Data Example dlogger spec file content:
“group_by_date” if set to FALSE – This will inhibit DARTS from grouping by date. Cummins Internal Use Only
16
Sending Dlogger Data Dlogger Setup:
Dlogger ID is unique to the machine If Dlogger is stopped and then restart without changing Dlogger ID, the data will be appended to the previous data log Run the dlogger from the command line: dlogger specFileName Stop the dlogger, if needed Check on DARTS Job Status page, to verify if dlogger file is successfully loaded * For more detail on dlogger, visit Logging Data Using dlogger on ewiki Cummins Internal Use Only
